Ductless HVAC Company Serving Lancaster, York and Harrisburg PA
Welcome to Winter’s Heating & Air Conditioning, where innovation meets comfort. If you’ve been exploring options for a new heating and cooling system, consider a ductless HVAC system. Our ductless HVAC systems offer modern efficiency that goes beyond the traditional capabilities of central air conditioning.
Ductless HVAC systems, also known as “mini-splits,” work to both heat and cool spaces in a controlled and zoned environment. Oftentimes, homeowners choose ductless HVAC to extend their heating and cooling capabilities for retrofitted add-ons to their home. Another reason to choose ductless HVAC may be to supply heating and cooling to multifamily housing units or even commercial spaces. Older homes that do not have the space to install ductwork for central air conditioning also lend themselves to ductless HVAC options.
How do they work?
Similar to central air conditioning and heating systems, ductless HVAC units have two main components: an outdoor compressor or condenser and an indoor air-handling unit. A specific conduit housing the power cable, refrigerant tubing, suction tubing, and condensation drain links the two units. Unlike central HVAC units, there is no ductwork running air between one large outdoor compressor and an indoor central air handler.
The indoor air handler is typically mounted on an interior wall but on the same side as the outdoor compressor, where it serves to collect and circulate heated or cooled air throughout the room. Air collected by the indoor air handler is returned to the outside condenser unit, where refrigerant (for cooling) is compressed and circulated back to the indoor units in one continuous cycle. Likewise, during the winter months, the outdoor compressor works to heat air before sending it back into your home via the indoor air handler unit. The constant transfer of heat or cold air from inside your home to the outside is what helps keep your home’s temperature comfortable and ideal.
Because of their ductless nature, “mini-splits” are designed to operate only in the room in which they are mounted. For homes needing multiple rooms for heating and cooling, additional units are often required for each climate-controlled space. However, the benefit of using individual units in each room is that you can set temperatures via specific thermostats, offering highly personalized climate control options.

Your Trusted Source for Ductless HVAC Service and Repair in Lancaster, York and Harrisburg PA
For those already experiencing the benefits of zoned climate comfort, make sure that you are properly caring for your system by scheduling regular and routine maintenance. Keeping your system running at peak performance reduces the risk of costly repairs and can even extend the overall lifespan of your system.
Because ductless HVAC systems have both indoor and outdoor units, it is important to have a professional HVAC company service your overall system to ensure that both pieces are in good working order and running efficiently. If one component is not working properly, then you run the risk of damage to your broader system, which can translate to expensive service calls for repairs.

We Love Our Customers
I love WHS! They saved me $1000 on my new unit in my new home and the customer service was excellent.
I called Melvin because our furnace stopped blowing heat. He showed up about 35 minutes later. In no time he figured out the problem and now the furnace is back to running normal again. Thanks for saving the day once again for me. I will never use another HVAC company in my life.
Melvin is a war veteran and I served 25 years in the military, this young man installed a completely new unit in half the time and it has been working with no problems.
My mother complained of heating issues and the other companies quoted $500 for repairs. Turns out it was a bad switch that cost $90 and Winter Home Services repaired it added a discount because my mother was a veteran
Melvin has many years of experience in this industry. His specialized knowledge of the trade and the actual value of the services puts him in a unique position to save you a lot of money. Consult with Melvin whenever you have a need for home and property services.
4 years ago my parents had an issue with one of their AC units and their contracted HVAC vendor explained the unit was shot and needed to be replaced. Melvin came in replaced a $50 part and the unit is still running great to this day. It's unfortunate to think some companies do this to people but they do! Get a second opinion, call Melvin!!
